NOJIMA's XJR1300

XJR1300_NOJIMA-Engineering_01.jpg

This is an XJR full custom bike built by Nojima Engineering. The fuel tank and seat cowl are made of bare aluminum. Its single seat is brown. The headlight area is made up of mechanical-looking bracket and other parts. The blinkers are tiny. This bike seems to be an European neo-retro custom, but a closer look reveals elements that are slightly different from that style. The rear suspensions have been replaced to a mono-suspension.

At the time of the photo shoot, Nojima's representative was fond of neo-retro style and came up with this custom. The founder of Nojima taught him the technique of processing, and they finally realized this combination of use of mono suspension and neo-retro. This is a promising custom that can also be styled in this way. If you want to create an XJR Custom that is different from the others way, this is the one you should refer to.

Electrical

The mirrors with machined bodies and ultra-compact LED blinkers are made by HighSider of Germany. The headlight is mounted with two plate-type brackets extending from the steering head section, and a bracket is made at the lower end of the round pipe extending below the headlight to mount the blinkers.

Handle

The stem is an XJR1300 with the handlebars removed and replaced with clip-on handles. The small round one-body meter is an Acewell ACE-4553.

Bodyworks

The fuel tank, which gives the bike a neo-retro look, has a cover made of machined aluminum. The front side is gouged to secure the steering angle. The rear side is also narrowed.

To take advantage of the compact rear part of the bike, which was made more compact by the NJ mono suspension, a one-off seat was also fabricated in a single seat style. The brown leather surface gives the bike a light cafe racer look. The tail cowl was also made of aluminum to match the short tail.

Intake & Exhaust

XJR1300_NOJIMA-Engineering_07.jpg

The exhaust is made by Nojima, which is dedicated to NJ product. There is a spiral collector megaphone that adopts a spiral shape for the pipe collection.

Engine

The DOHC 4-valve 1250cc air-cooled straight-4 engine and BSR37 carburetor are remained to be stock, with twin oil coolers.

Chassis

XJR1300_NOJIMA-Engineering_09.jpg

Front and rear wheels in 3.50-17/5.50-17 sizes are remained to be stock; the swingarm is replaced by Wheelie made for NJ (aluminum triple squares cross section, handmade).

New shock mount is necessary for NJ specification, which is also a part of Nojima Engineering's know-how. The footpegs, which have a very small base plate, are one-off products for this custom.
