Gasket for "Mizuno Motor" original gas cock.is an old-fashioned ON-OFF-RES manual switching type cock. The small negative pressure hose from the carburetor should be used with the lid (stopper). When using this ON-OFF-RES switchable cock, it is necessary to turn it OFF when the engine is stopped. That was the norm for 4L3 and older vehicles, but if you think it's too much trouble, it is recommend to use the stock negative pressure system. This switching type is more convenient for the vehicles that have been replaced with racing ones because there is no negative pressure extraction.
■The structure of the gasoline cock In the case of successive generations of Yamaha 2-stroke motorcycles, the structure of the gas cock has changed from the early type RZ250 (4L3) to the RZ250R (29L).Before 4L3, the gasoline flow was controlled by ON-OFF-RES switching, but after 29L, the gasoline cock automatically flows gasoline by detecting the negative pressure (suction force) caused by the up-and-down movement of the engine piston. It is marked ON-RES-PRI, and ON and RES indicate that gasoline flows when the negative pressure is generated (in other words, when the engine is running), and gasoline stops when the engine is stopped, and gasoline does not flow to the carburetor when the engine is stopped.PRI means that the gasoline flows independently of the engine. Therefore, the negative pressure type cock has a thick hose through which gasoline flows and a thin hose to detect the negative pressure.
Points of Attention
* If there may be an instruction manual included, it will be written in Japanese.
It's a little closer to the top of the left side, but it fits in the hole of the side cover without any problem. It would be better if it had an OEM look, but the location is inconspicuous, so it's perfectly fine.
One thing I'd like to see improved is that the Yamaha OEMs at the time were lower ⇒ later ⇒ upper, but this one is lower ⇒ front ⇒ upper, which is a bit confusing to the senses.View Detail
I bought it to replace the 1XG Cook, I wanted to fill the holes in the Cowl tightly. It's functional, but it's molded in a pre-1985 29L. 1XG (3HM) It's somewhat off in the Cowl hole. So I used a sander to scrape off a little bit of the Cook's perimeter (about 1 to 1.5mm). Now that it's installed, the Cowl is also in a bit of a state of hit. The Cowl side was also shaved a little inside with Leutor. If you have the right tools, it only took me about 30 minutes to do it because they are both soft Material. You need to do it carefully, though, because you can't take it back if you overdo it.
It currently looks perfect with no Limit interference. The texture is a bit of a thing. Because the body color is Black and this Cook is also Black, I don't care about it so much. I think it's good because it plugs the holes in Cowl and looks like an OEM. I'm happy with the fact that I can now turn Cook off properly as well.View Detail
